Google is recording your voice! How to turn off this feature
When the user uses Google, whether it is Google search, Google Assistant or Google Maps, the voice and audio activities generated will be stored in the Google account on the Google server. Google will record the user's voice and store it for other purposes. However, this poses a privacy issue. When cybercriminals steal user information, they can listen to call recordings and steal information from Google's stored data. Turning off this feature only requires a few steps.
According to the "Daily Mail" report, Google will use voice and audio activities to develop and improve audio recognition technology and Google services that use these technologies when users use Google search, Google Assistant or Google Maps.
While Google and other companies like Amazon and Apple say their AI assistant software like Alexa and Siri only listen for commands, the reality is that it still poses a major privacy concern if cybercriminals gain access to accounts or hack smart devices. They could listen to phone calls and steal information from Google's stored data.
According to the Google account description, unless the user chooses to turn on "Voice and Audio Activity", this setting is turned off by default. If you want to turn off this feature, the steps are as follows:
Android:
- On your Android phone or tablet, tap the "Settings" application "Google" and "Manage your Google Account" in sequence.
- Tap Data and Privacy at the top.
- Under "Logging Settings", tap "Network & App Activity".
- Uncheck the box next to "Include voice and audio activity."
iPhone or iPad:
